An update from Alex

My wife and I will be attending the NAMM show in Anaheim next week, so if any of you are going to the show, maybe we'll see you there. I'm not doing any signings or presentations or anything like that, but I will be there as a guest of Spector basses. I'll also be dropping by the Modulus, DR Strings, and Ampeg booths, so you might see me somewhere around there too.

Brazilian tour report; Kill Tour wrap-up

We have just returned from Brazil, where we finished off the Kill tour with a very successful 4 show mini-tour. This was our 3rd trip to Brazil, and we were happy to see lots of old friends as well as many new ones. We really had an excellent time there, and we want to thank the fans in Brazil for giving us such a great response. These will likely be the last shows we do until 2009, so we are really happy to finish the tour on such a high note. We also would like to thank Eduardo and Victor for doing a great job with the organization of the tour, all of the local crews/promoters, and all of the excellent bands we shared the stage with during the tour.

25th Anniversary Tour wrap up

We have just returned home to Tampa after the final show of the Metal Blade Records 25th Anniversary tour, which was Thursday night in Orlando. The whole tour was incredible, in fact some of the biggest headlining shows we've ever done in North America were on this tour. There's no doubt that a huge part of the tour's success was due to the overall strength of the line up of bands supporting us on the tour (The Absence, Goatwhore, The Red Chord, and The Black Dahlia Murder).

Latin American tour wrap up

Since the last time we checked in we have finished off our tour with three very successful concerts in Chile, Argentina and Peru. Chile and Argentina had some of the most vocal audiences we've ever played to (the chanting was just awesome), and the Peru show was our first in that country, and it was really fantastic. There were intense pits in the audience throughout the night, it was a really great response. We also would like to comment about an article on us (written by the Peruvian news agency Andina) that stated we are part of a relief effort for victims of the recent tragic earthquake in Peru. As far as I know, none of the band members knew about this, so I'm not sure where this news agency got their information from. We don't want to take credit for something we did not do, even if it's a very good thing like this. However, this is certainly a noble cause, and of course we would encourage people inside and outside of Peru to contribute to helping the victims of this disaster.

Latin American tour update

Hello everyone, just wanted to update you all on how the tour is going. We have had another major disappointment, and that is that the concert in Venezuela was cancelled by the local authorities mere hours before we were to begin. This is an enormous dissapointment for us, as all of the fans were already there, and many of them had traveled a great distance to get there.

CANNIBAL CORPSE bassist Alex Webster has issued the following clarification regarding the band's abbreviated August 17, 2007 performance in Bogota, Colombia:

Clarification about Colombia:

We have to clear up what happened at the Colombian show we recently
played. The show was cut short, and cut short for one reason only: THE
POLICE SHUT IT DOWN. Although we had terrible luck throughout the day
in other ways (major problems with the local audio equipment, Alex was
violently ill with food poisoning), these reasons would not be enough
to make us stop playing. We stopped because the local promoter told us
that we must stop because of the police. We had already played 11
songs (normally we play 17 or 18). We all wanted to play more, but the
promoter said it was impossible. Unfortunately, nobody explained this
situation to the fans, and many were angry, and a small riot ensued
during which time our banner and pedal boards were stolen.

It is very important to us in Cannibal Corpse that our fans understand
that we were not responsible in any way for being cut short, it was
the police. We are sorry to the fans there who saw us play a shorter
set than normal, but it was not our fault that we had to stop playing.
