My wife and I will be attending the NAMM show in Anaheim next week, so if any of you are going to the show, maybe we'll see you there. I'm not doing any signings or presentations or anything like that, but I will be there as a guest of Spector basses. I'll also be dropping by the Modulus, DR Strings, and Ampeg booths, so you might see me somewhere around there too.

Also, in case you didn't see the announcement on Hate Eternal's site last month, I won't be playing bass on their upcoming tours. Although it would have been a lot of fun, we all knew from the beginning that I'd probably just do the studio session, and that's the way things turned out. It just seemed like there would be some serious schedule conflicts, so they decided to look for a bassist who could be fully dedicated to touring with them this year. Those guys are beginning a tour next week, so be sure to catch them if they come through your area. Also, their new album "Fury and Flames" will be released on February 20th, so check it out. It's a truly savage album, and I'm proud they let me be a part of it.

In Cannibal news, we have started writing, and things are coming along well. We are hoping to enter the studio in September of this year, so that would mean our next album will be released sometime in 2009. Check Cannibal's site throughout the year for updates: www.cannibalcorpse.net

As for Blotted Science, we have been enjoying a very positive response to the release of our debut album "The Machinations of Dementia", and I'd like to say thank you to everybody out there who has bought the album or supported us in any way. A lot of people have been asking when and if we'll play live, and I still don't know the answer to that. If we ever did plan something it would be posted on Blotted's Myspace page, so check there for updates: www.myspace.com/blottedscience

OK, that's all for now. I hope you're all having a great New Year, and I hope to see some of you out at the NAMM show.

We have just returned from Brazil, where we finished off the Kill tour with a very successful 4 show mini-tour. This was our 3rd trip to Brazil, and we were happy to see lots of old friends as well as many new ones. We really had an excellent time there, and we want to thank the fans in Brazil for giving us such a great response. These will likely be the last shows we do until 2009, so we are really happy to finish the tour on such a high note. We also would like to thank Eduardo and Victor for doing a great job with the organization of the tour, all of the local crews/promoters, and all of the excellent bands we shared the stage with during the tour.
The touring we did for Kill turned out to be some of the most extensive we've done in our career. During the tour we played festival tours such as No Mercy and Sounds of the Underground, as well as excellent one-off festivals like Wacken, With Full Force, Hellfest, New England Metalfest, and Graspop. We also did 2 headlining tours of Europe and 2 headlining tours of the USA and Canada, one of which was the Metal Blade 25th Anniversary tour, and also several smaller tours throughout the world. We played with dozens of killer heavy bands along the way, and we'd like to say hello and thanks to all of them.

The tour covered many countries we've been to before: The United Kingdom, Ireland, Belgium, The Netherlands, Germany, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Greece, Slovenia, The Czech Republic, Serbia, Hungary, Poland, Latvia, Estonia, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Switzerland, Austria, Mexico, Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, The United States, Canada, Russia, and Australia. We also went to a few countries for the first time on this tour: Bulgaria, Romania, Guatemala, Iceland, El Salvador, Ecuador, Peru, and New Zealand. We were only forced to miss one gig on the whole tour and that was the Venezuela show which was cancelled by the local government. Hopefully we'll be able to get down there in the future as we really want to play for all of the great fans there.

So, unless we've forgotten a country on this list (our apologies if we did), that's 41 countries that we performed in for the Kill tour. We'd like to give massive thanks to all of the fans in that came to these shows, you all helped make the Kill tour our best tour ever. THANK YOU!!!!

We have just returned home to Tampa after the final show of the Metal Blade Records 25th Anniversary tour, which was Thursday night in Orlando. The whole tour was incredible, in fact some of the biggest headlining shows we've ever done in North America were on this tour. There's no doubt that a huge part of the tour's success was due to the overall strength of the line up of bands supporting us on the tour (The Absence, Goatwhore, The Red Chord, and The Black Dahlia Murder).

All of them kicked ass night after night, and they are all great guys too. We would like to say thank you to all of the bands and crew that made the tour so great, and we'd also like to thank Metal Blade Records for the excellent support they gave the tour. Most importantly, we'd like to thank all of the fans who attended the shows, you guys are the best.

So, we're home now, but only until Monday, which is when we fly down to Brazil for a 4 show mini-tour. We haven't been to Brazil since 2004, so we are very excited to see all of our fans down there again. The Brazilian concerts will be most likely be the final shows of the Kill tour, and we plan on getting to work on the writing process for our next album shortly after we return from that trip. Check back after the Brazilian tour for a full tour report. Until then, stay brutal and thanks for the support!

Since the last time we checked in we have finished off our tour with three very successful concerts in Chile, Argentina and Peru. Chile and Argentina had some of the most vocal audiences we've ever played to (the chanting was just awesome), and the Peru show was our first in that country, and it was really fantastic. There were intense pits in the audience throughout the night, it was a really great response. We also would like to comment about an article on us (written by the Peruvian news agency Andina) that stated we are part of a relief effort for victims of the recent tragic earthquake in Peru. As far as I know, none of the band members knew about this, so I'm not sure where this news agency got their information from. We don't want to take credit for something we did not do, even if it's a very good thing like this. However, this is certainly a noble cause, and of course we would encourage people inside and outside of Peru to contribute to helping the victims of this disaster.
In general, despite a few instances of bad luck that we've already covered in previous blogs, the tour was a success. In fact, some of the best shows on the KILL tour were part of this recent Latin American trip. We want to say a huge thank you to all of the fans who came out to the concerts during our Latin American tour, you guys rule.

Now we are gearing up for the Metal Blade Records 25th Anniversary tour, which begins in New Orleans on the 6th of September. The tour features us, The Black Dahlia Murder, The Red Chord, Goatwhore, and The Absence. We are very excited about this lineup, this tour will really wrap up the KILL tour cycle on a high note. Also, we have made a few changes to our set list that our fans should enjoy. We will be bringing back a couple of old songs we haven't played live in a few years, so we're pretty excited about that. See you all at the shows!

Hello everyone, just wanted to update you all on how the tour is going. We have had another major disappointment, and that is that the concert in Venezuela was cancelled by the local authorities mere hours before we were to begin. This is an enormous dissapointment for us, as all of the fans were already there, and many of them had traveled a great distance to get there.
We are so frustrated, because there is no question this would have been an incredble concert. The venue was great, the equipment was great, all of the organization done by the local promoter seemed really well done. The audience outside of the concert seemed really excited about the show, and so were we. Unfortunately, the local government decide to shut the show down, and despite the best efforts of all envolved the show was cancelled. We are so sorry to all of the fans who came to see us play, you are no doubt the only people who are more dissapointed and frustrated than we are.

In other tour news, we have learned a little more about the situation in Colombia. Apparently, a short announcement was made by a member of the local promoter's crew shortly after I made my announcement. I and the other guys did not hear this announcement as we were busy with our gear or greeting the fans, but while Paul was working on his drums he said he saw a man hiding behind the amplifiers talking into a microphone. From what we understand this man blamed the show stoppage on my illness, which as we have stated before is completely untrue. This dishonest announcement helps explain a great deal about why the audience was so angry. The guy who made the announcement was no doubt part of the same group of people that had just told us to stop playing because the police were shutting the show down. We are completely disgusted that this kind of misleading bullshit took place. We also have heard that the local promoter is saying similiar misleading statements on his website. We have never been put in a worse position by a promoter in the history of our band and we are furious about it. We also want to repeat that we are very sorry to our fans in Colombia for this early stoppage of the concert, we are so unhappy about all of this.

OK, now that new have the bad news out of the way, I'd like to say a big thank you to all of the fans who came to the shows in El Salvador, Costa Rica, and Ecuador. Those shows went very well, and the audience response was just incredible. These shows have really helped lift our spirits during a tour that has had more than its fair share of problems.

Also, just to let my friends know, I'm feeling fine now, and thank you so much for the support.

CANNIBAL CORPSE bassist Alex Webster has issued the following clarification regarding the band's abbreviated August 17, 2007 performance in Bogota, Colombia:

"OK, I'm posting this blog to help clear up any confusion about our Colombian concert which was shut down by the police. During the concert I was very sick and had to leave the stage twice to deal with the physical problems associated with food poisoning (vomiting, etc.). When I returned to the stage after one of these episodes, I was told the show had to end because of the police. Apparently, there had been a riot outside of the club by fans who could not get in (the show was sold out). For this reason, the police demanded that the concert end immediately. Anyway, the fans had begun chanting my name, so I figured I would try and explain the situation about why I left the stage twice during the concert, and also, I could mention the problem with the authorities. I know a little Spanish, so I here is what I said: 'Hola. Por la primera, necesito decir lo siento. Estoy enfermo hoy. Me duele el estomago mucho. Tambien, la autoridad ha dicho 'no mas.' Lo siento, muchas gracias.' What I was trying to say was: 'Hello, First, I need to say I am sorry. I am sick today. My stomach is very sick. Also, the authorities have said 'no more.' I am sorry. Thank you.' This was obviously a mistake for me to try and explain the situation, as many people didn..t fully understand and assumed we were cancelling due to my illness, which was not true. I was ready to continue playing, and even if I wasn't, the others would have continued without me. I really wish the local promoter would have come to the stage to explain what was happening to the audience. It is very frustrating to see our fans be angry with us over something that is not our fault.

"OK, I hope this helps all of our Colombian fans better understand this lousy situation. We are very sorry that the concert had to be cut short due to this police intervention. I am also sorry I was not able to communicate more clearly what was happening to the audience, but I did the best I could. Really, that job should have been handled by the concert promoter, or by somebody else fluent in Spanish, not somebody in the band.

"Also, for anybody who is interested, I am feeling a little better, although I have not eaten in two days."

We have to clear up what happened at the Colombian show we recently
played. The show was cut short, and cut short for one reason only: THE
POLICE SHUT IT DOWN. Although we had terrible luck throughout the day
in other ways (major problems with the local audio equipment, Alex was
violently ill with food poisoning), these reasons would not be enough
to make us stop playing. We stopped because the local promoter told us
that we must stop because of the police. We had already played 11
songs (normally we play 17 or 18). We all wanted to play more, but the
promoter said it was impossible. Unfortunately, nobody explained this
situation to the fans, and many were angry, and a small riot ensued
during which time our banner and pedal boards were stolen.

It is very important to us in Cannibal Corpse that our fans understand
that we were not responsible in any way for being cut short, it was
the police. We are sorry to the fans there who saw us play a shorter
set than normal, but it was not our fault that we had to stop playing.

Just a quick alert that the tourdates for the upcoming Metal Blade tour have been updated. Some dates have been added and other have moved venues so check them out before you make plans.

On another note, this weekend the band will be at the infamous (SOLD OUT) Wacken Open Air festival. If you are planning on being at Wacken, make sure to check them out on the Black Stage on Saturdays at 00:45 right after In Flames. There is no meet & greet planned.
